Default wanna see my weapons in a city

I don't want to use them. I just want to be able to see them either in my hand or perhaps hanging somewhere on my person. it would add flavor to the game to see what swords/staves/etc. people had slung over their shoulders. You could remove them (if it's a secret) the same way most people tend to remove *other items* while in town.

Yes, it would be great to see my fiery dragon sword lighting my character on fire.

It would cause a lot of issues, though.

I don't like the idea of weapons in-hand in a town or outpost. However, I would love to see it strapped across my back.

Good idea. Weapons and headgear should be visible in towns if the player wishes so.

Default weapons in city = good thing

I like the idea of showing the weapons in the city.

not really showin off since I don't have anything cool to show off... but it would add a cool element to seein all these people about. I already like the habit most people have of finding each other and facing each other when they're talking, it makes sense and makes the game look better.

To see someone's equipped weapon slung over their shoulder would add another of these sweet elements to make the game look better.

I imagine it would cause some serious lag.

I can not imagine it would cause anymore lag then all the rest of the things you are wearing in town.

I'd like to see that.

Not many armor pieces are animated, wereas many weapons are. Adding a few dozen small, independent animations (not including those weapons which leave trails when moved) would cause a lot of players some considerable lag in busy districts.

perhaps you could have a 'generic' picture... if you go with the 'on your back' thing, anyone wearing a longsword could have it in a hilt at their side, just a generic, plain silver thing. Or a bow slung over their shoulder for a ranger... just a longbow picture. Anyone using a staff could have it as a walking stick and those with wands could have it hanging from a belt or something. Dragon swords for example should have the flame extinguished... just have the two 'prongs' that twist together hanging down at the side of the char like any other sword. This could reduce the lag and would look cool too.
